Stillwater Rod & Gun Club

Established 1935/ Incorporated 1951

A great place to be!

The Stillwater Rod and Gun Club, located in Easton, N.Y. is composed of sportsmen with

diverse interests that include

boating, fishing, target shooting, archery, education of our younger family members and

neighbors, teaching safety, and simply enjoying their families and the great outdoors.

MEETINGS ARE THE FIRST TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH!

Meetings start at 7:30pm, but we are usually there at 6:30pm if you would like to get there early to handle any business before hand.

ATTENTION RENEWING MEMBERS!!!

It’s that time of year again!

IF YOU ARE RENEWING, YOU CAN DO SO ONLINE

*****BUT*****
WE ASK THAT YOU DO NOT MAIL YOUR KEY TO US!

IT IS NOW REQUIRED THAT ALL MEMBERS EXCHANGE THEIR KEYS IN PERSON!!

We have come to the realization that mailing keys is simply not feasible and it also opens the club up to members that aren’t familiar with our policies and procedures. Doing this eliminates any confusion of our expectations and ensures all members are on the same page.  In addition, the post office is becoming more irate with the amount of keys getting stuck in their machines, and the resulting destruction of any letters and/or checks included with the returned keys, which then causes your memberships to lapse as we cannot tell whose mail it was that has been destroyed.

While we understand that this may cause some issues as far as members that for whatever reason cannot attend, please understand that we are doing this for the safety of our members and our club. With all the new laws floating around in NYS now, it would only take one incident, and our club would be shut down permanently. Nobody wants that, so don’t be ‘that guy’.

Thanks and happy shooting!

Kristy ~ SRGC Secretary/Treasurer

Remember:

1. It is against the club by-laws to copy or reproduce any of the keys to our facility. If it is discovered that you have done so, that is immediate grounds for expulsion from our club.

2. You are not to ‘loan’ out your key to any non-member of our club. If a friend or family member wants to come enjoy our club, they can join.

3. You MUST NEVER let someone onto our property without them providing proof that they are a member. We understand that sometimes people forget their keys, and it’s ok if you let them in as long as they can provide you with proof they are a current member. For example, by providing you with their 8 digit membership number.

4. If you see someone or something that is not right, LET US KNOW IMMEDIATELY! All of the Officers as well as Board of Directors are available by phone, the majority of us do text and our numbers are listed on this website. No issue is too small and we want our club to be a safe place for everyone to enjoy our sport.

The Chicken Shoots will be starting soon!!

Starting in January, every Saturday until mid April 2024, our annual Chicken Shoots are being held at the club from 8am - ? If you enjoy .22 shoots, feel free to stop by and pit your skills against other members! They shoot an iron sightClass at 25yd and a scoped class at 50yd. This event is open to the public as well. Bring your friends and family for a few hours of fun!!

Remember, while the Chicken Shoots are ongoing, the range is CLOSED to ALL OTHER SHOOTING! This means no pistols, no shotguns, no going to sight in your rifles 'real quick'... Sorry guys! This is a 40 year long annual tradition and non-negotible. HOWEVER, once the shoots are done for the day, the range will reopen to everyone that wants to stop by later on. But please, don't be rude and go in asking when they are going to be done. They are done when they are done, and no amount of asking and complaining that 'It's the only day I can go shoot' will make them be done any faster. This is a standing tradition, as I've said, that has been going on longer than most of us have been alive.

Please be respectful.
